Mortgage Renewal

The mortgage on our property is a commercial loan with Old Point.  The loan is reviewed every 5 yrs.  Last week the loan was renewed for another 5 yr term, and an interest rate that is 2% below what we had been paying.  The necessary weekly contribution in our budget was lowered for this year.  Help meet or exceed the budget amount, the financial report is now posted in the hall.

Grant Opportunity

Greetings from Hampton University

We are currently offering a new grant program called "Grant Yourself an Education."  Exclusive  to Hampton Roads & Richmond area students, these grants will allow students to better afford a sterling education in one of the east coast's leading private HBCU's.  Students who submit completed application packets by 2/20 and meet the general admission requirements will be eligible for this grant.  There are no additional forms or requirements necessary for consideration.  Students receiving the grant will be awarded amounts of up to $5,000!  Bobbi Carroll Admissions Counselor (757) 637-2125.

An updated contact lists--are available in envelopes by family last name.  Check the hall table.

Communion for 2012--please sign the list in the hall if you can help.

Pantry items are needed!  Remember to buy an extra item to help stock our pantry.  These are difficult times for so many in our area--let us give, as we have prospered!  Pantry suggestions--canned fruit, canned meat (chicken/ham), cereal, spaghetti sauce, baked beans, rice, mashed potatoes, Jell-O, pudding, canned tomatoes, stuffing, chili, complete boxed pizza kits, Kool-Aid, and powdered drinks.

Remember in prayer--Edkima Timmons requests prayers for her family.  Pam Wright requested prayers for strength--Virginia Stoll's daughter--Theresa Wells had a double lung transplant in December.  Jim Lynch, Cindy Keefe's father who is dealing with vertigo.  Phyllis Walker, a lady from NJ who donated blankets and yarn to our knitting ministry, has cancer.
